AS BAZOOKA FARMSTAR’S NEWEST CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT MANAGER
You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing the plant’s Manufacturing Engineering activities to support manufacturing operations. You will provide the necessary technical direction to improve productivity, process/product improvement and reduction of overall product cost, while meeting production schedules and deadlines. You will also serve as liaison between the Design Engineering and Manufacturing Team.
Now, let’s get down to the nitty-gritty.
Supervise product, process, plant, manufacturing, assembly, and engineering projects to improve process capabilities, drive down cost, and improve manufacturing capabilities.
Support annual budget preparation through the development of capital projects and expenditures.
Drive accountability to maintain timelines, project initiatives, and cost structures.
Delegate project workloads and allocate resources to accomplish desired results.
Manage the qualification of new products and raw materials to be incorporated into the manufacturing process, as well as, leading assessment and selection of potential talent for Manufacturing Engineering positions.
Support all departments with improving safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity through capital expenditures, process check documentation, design improvements, process improvements, manufacturing recommendations, and capacity improvements.
Participate in manufacturing process decisions involving new and existing product lines to assess and improve equipment and capacity.
Enforce an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing and recommend alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions.
Serve as the primary contact in handling all internal and external quality concerns and identify the root cause and corrective action alongside the Quality Team and Production Supervisors for all quality issues.
Monitor the quality program and improvements.
Evaluate reports, decisions, and results of departmental concerns in relation to established goals.
Have the ability to multitask, manage projects, and build cohesive teams in order to meet target dates and objectives.
Comply with company safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution is required.
Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience is required.
Lean manufacturing expertise.
Ability to read prints.
Microsoft Office experience required.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 75 lbs.
Highly motivated and be able to work in independent and group settings alike.
