Building More Than Equipment: Ron Wright’s Legacy of Mentorship

January 13, 2026

Bazooka Gamechanger

When Ron Wright clocks in each morning at Bazooka Farmstar, he’s not just thinking about the welds he’ll complete or the equipment he’ll help build. He’s thinking about the people around him—the ones who might need a patient explanation, a word of encouragement, or a reminder to work safely.

After 12 years as Weld Lead at Bazooka Farmstar, Ron recently received the fourth quarter Gamechanger award, recognized for embodying the core value “Bigger than us – we are more than just the work we do. Make time for family and community.”

A Mentor Who Makes All the Difference

The nomination that earned Ron this recognition tells a story many of us can relate to: the nervousness of starting a new job, particularly one that involves building large structures and mastering complex welding skills. But it also tells another story—one of a mentor who transforms that nervousness into confidence.

“From my first day on the job, he has gone above and beyond to make me feel welcome and part of the team,” his nominator shared. In an environment that can be intimidating, Ron made it his mission to ensure his new teammate didn’t just learn the technical skills but also understood how each task fit into the bigger picture of the company’s work.

What stands out most? Ron’s approach to teaching. He doesn’t just demonstrate a technique once and move on. He takes the time to show someone multiple times, always emphasizing safety and best practices. He answers every question with patience, offers tips to improve skills, and maintains a positive attitude that inspires others to do their best work.

The Heart of a Helper

When Ron learned he’d won the Gamechanger award, his reaction was characteristically humble. “I was truthfully surprised,” he admits. “Reading what the nomination was about, I feel was just part of the job. To do it right is just part of the job, and try to treat everybody the same.”

But that humility reveals something important about Ron’s character. For him, helping others isn’t something extra—it’s simply who he is. As a past fireman and EMT, service to others has always been central to his life. “I’ve always helped people and the community,” he reflects.

His advice for others aspiring to similar recognition? “Be dedicated and take the time to show someone how to do it correctly and safely. Be dedicated to the job and the people.”

A Ripple Effect of Excellence

Ron Wright’s impact at Bazooka Farmstar extends far beyond the quality welds and well-built equipment he produces. Through his patient mentorship, he’s building something even more valuable: a culture where people feel supported, where skills are passed down with care, and where safety and quality are non-negotiable standards.

His nominator summed it up perfectly: “Because of his guidance, my confidence and skills have grown tremendously, and I truly feel like a valued member of the team.”

That’s the mark of a true Gamechanger—someone who understands that excellence at work stems from who you are as a person, both inside and outside the workplace.

Life Beyond the Weld

The same dedication Ron brings to the shop floor carries over into every aspect of his life. His greatest joy? Time spent with his seven grandchildren, who range in age from 15 years old to just 6 months. Whether he’s babysitting, attending their events, or taking them fishing during the summer months, these moments are what he treasures most.

“That is a highlight of mine,” Ron shares with unmistakable warmth, “and looking forward to the youngest ones to join soon!”

His love for family extends to the four-legged members as well. “I love dogs,” Ron explains. “They are like family in my house.” It’s no surprise, then, that when given the opportunity to select a not-for-profit organization to receive a $100 donation in recognition of his award, Ron chose Paws & More without hesitation.

Congratulations, Ron, on this well-deserved recognition. Your 12 years at Bazooka Farmstar have made a lasting difference, one patient lesson and one encouraging word at a time.
